“To be intentional about making our world a better place, one word at a time.”
Too often we’ve said the wrong thing and wished we could take back the words that spewed out of our mouth. I have, way more times than I care to remember. Sometimes I can be abrasive when I speak. The intent is not to hurt, but to be clear and understood. One day, when having what I thought was a regular conversation with my daughter, she blurted out, ‘That’s hurtful!’ I was stunned as my purpose was not to upset her. It became clear to me that I needed to pay attention to what I said and how I spoke.
One day, when reading Proverbs 25:11, ‘a word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver,’ the importance of how words affect us really stood out to me. The verse stands alone as a brilliant visual and a graphic description.
Join me in this mission to make our spaces and our places better just by being conscience of the words we say. We can be straightforward and truthful in our conversations, however, we can also have awareness about how we come across and what we say.
